MC9 contains a lithium primary battery. When disposing of or recycling the battery, observe the national and local laws, regulations, and instructions on recycling.

In addition, observe the following precautions for disposal and recycling of batteries.
- Batteries may present a risk of fire or chemical burn if mistreated. Do not recharge, disassemble, heat above 100℃ (212°F), or incinerate.
- Dispose of or recycle a used battery promptly. Keep away from children. Do not disassemble and do not dispose of in fire.
- Do not dispose of or recycle uninsulated batteries together with metals and any conductive items. Doing so may cause fire or explosion. Before disposing of or recycling batteries, make sure to insulate them by sealing their terminals with insulation tapes or other appropriate ways.
