Consideration for Disposal

Robot and Controller

When disposing of the robot and controller, observe the national and local laws and regulations related to industrial waste management.

Battery

The robot and controller contain lithium primary batteries.

Battery type
Robot ER17500 (lithium thionyl chloride battery)
Controller CR17335 (lithium manganese dioxide battery)

When disposing of or recycling the batteries, observe the national and local laws, regulations, and instructions on recycling.

How to remove the battery

In addition, observe the following precautions for disposal and recycling of batteries.

  1. Batteries may present a risk of fire or chemical burn if mistreated. Do not recharge, disassemble, heat above 100℃ (212°F), or incinerate.
  2. Dispose of or recycle a used battery promptly. Keep away from children. Do not disassemble and do not dispose of in fire.
  3. Do not dispose of or recycle uninsulated batteries together with metals and any conductive items. Doing so may cause fire or explosion. Before disposing of or recycling batteries, make sure to insulate them by sealing their terminals with insulation tapes or other appropriate ways.

Battery in optional devices / functions

IPC set for RC8 extension function contains a battery. For how to remove the battery, refer to "How to Replace the Battery of IPC Set for RC8 Extension Function".
