From customized automation solutions to the robotized ANT Plant microfactory concept

 

2009:

Automation industry veterans and co-workers Jari Helminen, Mika Hätinen, Mika Mäkinen and Paavo Käkelä found EID Tech, which starts producing individually customized automation solutions. The inspiration to start their own company comes from a desire to strengthen the competitiveness of Finnish industrial production through automation.

2012:

EID Tech starts using its partner Denso’s robots in its automation solutions. See video.

2012:

Partnership with Beckhoff begins. EID Tech’s applications utilize Beckhoff’s control components.

2014:

EID Tech introduces the ECELL automation cell suitable for things such as processing casts of plastic objects, processing, inspecting and packing electronics components and manufacturing and testing LED lights.

2015:

EID Tech introduces the modular and scaling ECELL V2 automation cell whose design utilizes years of experience in piece goods automation and manufacturing processes. See video.

2015:

EID Tech mirrors its operation with global changes in the manufacturing industry. The market needs a cost-efficient solution to bring local manufacturing back from low labor cost countries. EID Tech decides to answer the call and raises the strengthening and internationalization of local industrial production to the core of its strategy.

2016:

EID Tech introduces the modular ANT Plant microfactory concept that is piloted together with the Finnish lighting company Valtavalo. ANT Plant produces near to million LED light tubes per year.

2016:

Jari Osmala becomes a member of the board and senior advisor. He has extensive and diverse experience in internationalization as the CEO of Normet and from management positions in Valtra in Brazil and Germany as well as Finland.

2017:

The robotics and full service solution-based ANT Plant microfactory concept attracts the attention of international electronics companies. . EID Tech has pending orders up to 20 million euros.

2017:

The microfactory concept convinces esteemed investors. Intellicons, JO Development, Jukka Heinonen, KJ Capital, Lucrosum Capital and Pia Kantola join Helminen, Käkelä and key persons Mika Mäkinen, Mika Hätinen and Antti Saarinen as new owners.
