Daily and Periodical Inspections

  • Be sure to perform daily and periodical inspections. Before starting jobs, always check that there is no problem with the robot and related equipment. If any problems are found, take any necessary measures to correct them.
  • When carrying out periodical inspections or any repairs, maintain records and keep them for at least 3 years.
  • To avoid loss of safety functions due to breakdown, perform overhaul every five years from the shipping date of the product. If any components are not replaced due to customer convenience, a robot may lose safety function or malfunction or breakdown may occur in shorter period than expected.
For inquiry about overhaul, please contact our service representative. For inquiry about the shipping date of the product, please contact the Sales/Contact(Authorized Representative) division where you have purchased the product.
  • Neither the inspection period nor overhaul interval represents the lifetime of a product.

Managing Robot Data

  • After the teaching operation or the data change, make sure to save the backup copies of important data (such as program) on off-line software (WINCAPSIII). Doing so, you can easily recover data in case data inside of your robot has been lost.
  • Clearly indicate for which robot the back-ups were made to prevent the data from being loaded into the wrong robot.

Safety Codes

The safety standards relating to robot systems are listed below. As well as observing the safety precautions given in this manual, ensure compliance with all local and national safety and electrical codes for the installation and operation of the robot system.

Standards Title
ANSI/RIA R15.06-2012 Industrial Robots and Robot Systems-Safety Requirements
ANSI/UL 1740-2018 Robots and Robotic Equipment
CAN/CSA-Z434-14 Industrial Robots and Robot Systems
ISO 10218-1: 2011 Robots and robotic devices — Safety requirements for industrial robots — Part 1: Robots
ISO 10218-2: 2011 Robots and robotic devices — Safety requirements for industrial robots — Part 2: Robot systems and integration
NFPA 79-2018 Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery

Fire-Fighting Measures

In the event of a fire, use dry chemical or carbon dioxide fire extinguisher. Do not use water jets.
