Grounding the Robot Unit
Ground the grounding terminal of the robot unit using a wire of 5.5 mm2 or more.
Use a dedicated grounding wire and grounding electrode. Do not share them with other power facilities or welding machines.

Precautions for Using the Old Type Motor & Encoder Cable
For the HSR series robot, the motor & encoder cable is available in two types: the new type and the old type.
An old type motor & encoder cable 6 m in length is shipped with a grounding wire and ferrite core.
If you choose the 6-meter old type motor & encoder cable, perform the following.
- Connect the provided wire to the A part of the controller for grounding.
- Install the provided ferrite core to the earth cable that connects to the B part of the controller.
- Install the provided ferrite core to the earth cable that connects to the Part C of the robot.
