Turning the Motor OFF

Some robot types have axes having no brake. Turning off the motor of such a brakeless axis loses the holding torque so that the freed axis may unexpectedly move by the force of gravity or external force. It is extremely DANGEROUS.

It is necessary to turn off motor if any of the following is applicable.

  1. Enter to the motion space of robot.
  2. Turn off the controller.
  3. Move robot with hands.
  4. Modify parameters.
  5. Load task (user) program.
  6. Execute CALSET (Select joint to be calibrated, or cancel the selection).
  7. Cancel any of joint brakes.

Operating Procedure

Press the [MOTOR] key on the mini-pendant.

When the motor turns off, the LED light on the [MOTOR] key will turn off.

Releasing the enabling switch in Manual or Auto mode (when the program check option is selected) will turn off the motor.
