EtherCAT Bridge Terminal
This section describes the EtherCAT bridge terminal. EtherCAT bridge terminal is an optional function of the EtherCAT slave for the RC9 series robot controller.
Overview
EtherCAT bridge terminal is a module that expands the RC9 series robot controller to the EtherCAT slave.
Mounting an EtherCAT bridge terminal in the robot controller enables the controller to communicate with external devices according to the EtherCAT slave-compliant communication protocol. The robot controller may easily exchange I/O data with EtherCAT-compliant Network devices.
Operating Environment
To use a EtherCAT bridge terminal, you need to prepare an expansion terminal (EtherCAT bridge terminal) and a function expansion license certificate.
Expansion terminal

Install the EtherCAT bridge terminal to the DIN rail for option of the robot controller. For details, refer to “Connecting method” in “I/O Options”.
