Installation of DeviceNet Slave Board

A DeviceNet slave board is built in an expansion slot of a robot controller.
A robot controller equips two expansion slots. From these slots, use a connector for PCI Express board to connect DeviceNet slave board. For about the way of connection, refer to "Installing Expansion Board ".

  1. When turn the controller power ON after this installation, "Shutdown since driver installation of the new device was completed." is displayed on the teach pendant. Press "OK" to shutdown the robot controller, then turn the motor power ON when "It is now safe to turn off your computer" appears.
After reboot is completed, set the Project property setting and the Field bus parameter setting with WINCAPS, and then send these parameters to the robot controller.

  2. Connect the shield of DeviceNet cable to the controller housing.
  3. For safety reason and to prevent damage to the devices, disconnect the power cable of the controller or shut down the power supply to the controller from the facilities before disconnecting or connecting cables.

DeviceNet slave board also can be used in combination with other extension boards. Selectable allocation mode differs depend on the combination of the extension boards.
For available allocations, see "Combination of I/O Extension Boards and Allocation Mode".
