Information on Safety during Wi-Fi Connection

This section describes the information on safety when connecting with COBOTTA via Wi-Fi by using Virtual TP, Remote TP or Cobotta World ("Wi-Fi capable app" hereafter).

Note that a PC or tablet with the Wi-Fi capable app installed is referred to as an "operation terminal".

(*1) Active stop: Stops COBOTTA according to the instruction from the operation terminal.

(*2) Passive stop: Stops automatically when COBOTTA detects the disruption of normal signals.

Buttons Corresponding to the Active Stop

The following shows the Active stop corresponding buttons used in the Wi-Fi capable app.

Remote TP

In RemoteTP, Active stop corresponding buttons are function buttons and [STOP] icon on the upper right of the window. These function buttons are displayed only in the "Displaying Program List Window (Run window)(Automatic Mode)". 

Virtual TP

In Virtual TP, Active stop corresponding buttons are function buttons and [STOP] icon on the upper right of the window. These function buttons are displayed only in the "Displaying Program List Window (Run window)(Automatic Mode)". 

Cobotta World

In Cobotta World, an Active stop corresponding button is [STOP] button on the edit window. This button has the instantaneous stop function and is displayed when a program is running. Cobotta World does not have the cycle stop and step stop functions.

Precautions When Operating Wi-Fi Capable App

  • Operate the Wi-Fi capable app after checking whether the Wi-Fi application is connected to another COBOTTA.
  • Operate the Wi-Fi capable app only in a place where the connected COBOTTA is visible.
  • Operate the operation terminal in a state, where stable power supply is provided.
  • To operate in a battery-driven state, refer to "Precautions on Battery during Wi-Fi Connection."

Requests to System Integrators

The following is the requests to system integrators.

  • Install the operation terminal in a place where the operation terminal does not fall or get hit.
  • Install the operation terminal in a place where the target COBOTTA is visible.
  • Make sure that a stable power supply is provided to the operation terminal. Make sure that the connection is established in a state of a sufficient battery capacity.
  • Manage the passwords for each user level and for each COBOTTA.
  • Check that the emergency stop switch works.
  • Check that the LED displays correctly.
  • Check that the operation terminal is connected with the target COBOTTA.
  • Make the connection route in such a way that the maximum response time of 1 second is not exceeded.
  • Make the facility in such a way that it is safe even at the maximum response time.
