Overview
The dual arm control function enables you to control two robots from one robot controller (hereafter, RC8 series).
The following example shows that two 4-axis robots are controlled.
In this example, with this function, one RC8 series controls two 4-axis robots.
This function also can be applied to the MC8 series motion controller (hereafter, MC8 series). With this function, one MC8 series can control two robots.
The following example shows that one MC8 series controls two 5-axis machines (10 axes in total).
This function also enables coordination between an RC8 series and an MC8 series.
The following example shows the coordination between an RC8 series-connected 6-axis robot and an MC8 series-connected 4-axis robot (parallel link robot). In this example, the MC8 series can easily control the parallel link robot by using the kinematics function.
(Note that the kinematics function is an option. To use this function, you need to purchase a paid license.)
Basically, the robot controller's operation and functions available for the control of two robots are the same as the control of one robot; however, there are some setting changes and function restrictions. Also, you need to explicitly specify the robot to be moved when programming.
