Overview
Mounting an EtherCAT slave board on the robot controller enables the controller to communicate with external devices according to the EtherCAT-compliant protocol. The robot controller may easily exchange I/O data with EtherCAT-compliant Network devices.
This function is available in Ver.1.8.6 or higher.
Operating Environment
To use a EtherCAT slave board, you need to prepare an expansion board (EtherCAT slave board) and a function expansion license certificate. For details, refer to "Options for Robot Controller" and "Optional Function and License".
Expansion Board
The table below lists the configuration of EtherCAT slave board.
EtherCAT slave board is installed in a PCIe slot which is one of an expansion slot in the robot controller. Mini-I/O connector kit is used as an input signal of the safety circuit.
