Overview
Connecting the I/O conversion box to some models of RC8 series robot controllers with the optional parallel I/O board mounted on them allows the signals fed to the "INPUT connector (CN8)", "OUTPUT connector (CN10)", and "I/O POWER connector (CN7)" on the RC5 controller to be used as is. This function is available in Ver.1.8.6 or higher.
The box is applicable to the following robot controllers.
- Safety I/O–less RC8
- Safety I/O–less RC8A with the engine board type-E
For the Pin Assignment on Connectors when the I/O conversion box is connected, refer to the "RC5 CONTROLLER INTERFACE MANUAL".
- The power supply setting (internal or external) and transistor type (NPN or PNP) need to be the same in between the Mini I/O and Parallel I/O.
- The I/O conversion box cannot be used for Safety I/O–less RC8A if its engine board type is “N” or “7”.
You can check engine board type on the name plate attached to the controller.
