Floor-mount or Overhead-mount Setting

The optimum operating conditions differ depending on whether the robot is floor-mounted or overhead-, wall- or tilted surface-mounted (user definition). In the "Floor-mount or Overhead-mount" setting, specify so as to match with the actual robot installation situation.

Installation Condition

As the factory default, the robot is set to "Floor-mount".

Also, conditions available for installation differ depending on the robot model. Refer to the following table.

  Floor-mount Overhead-mount Wall-mount

VLA-4025 - - -
VLA-6022 - - -

When setting a tilt angle, set a positive tilt angle for a setting value of the rotation direction (Ry in the robot coordinate system) that a robot leans forward.

VMB Series Robot
The VMB series robot can be mounted at an angle 0-180 degrees.

VLA Series Robot
The VLA series robot can be mounted at an angle 0-45 degrees and 135-180 degrees.

If you want to use with a setting value of the left-right rotation direction (Rx in the robot coordinate system), contact DENSO sales representative.

How to Set

In this example, we describes how to set when installing the VMB series robot on the tilted surface (user definition).

1

Select "User definition" in the setting condition and press [OK].

2

Enter an arbitrary angle and press [OK].

Arbitrary angle should be set only when the setting condition is "User definition". It is not necessary for "Floor-mount", "Overhead-mount" and "Wall-mount".

3

When you set the setting condition and the arbitrary angle, "Movement range" information is updated.

If you select "Wall-mount" or "tilt angle" in the setting condition, the 1st-axis motion range is limited.

Install the adjustable mechanical stopper to the robot 1st-axis for safety. This can prevent damage.

For the reference motion range at installation, refer to "Movement range" information.

If the tilt angle is set to 20° or more in the VLA series robot, when you send the default user parameter from WINCAPSIII, an error occurs when sending.
