Overview
DeviceNet is a serial communication system which facilitates interconnection between control devices, such as PLCs, PCs, sensors and actuators. By introducing DeviceNet, you can reduce wiring costs by saving wire and establish connection with devices of many manufacturers which support DeviceNet, thus realizing a comfortable and economical system configuration.
This function is available in Ver.1.6.4 or higher.
DeviceNet Master Board
By inserting the DeviceNet master board into the robot controller and connecting it with a slave device using a DeviceNet cable, DeviceNet system can be configured.
Operating Environment
To use a DeviceNet board, you need to prepare an expansion board (DeviceNet master board) and a function expansion license certificate. For details, refer to "Options for Robot Controller" and "Optional Function and License".
Expansion Board
The table below lists the configuration of DeviceNet master board.
DeviceNet master board is installed in a PCIe slot which is one of the expansion slots of the robot controller. Mini-I/O connector kit is used as an input signal of the safety circuit.
