Overview
DeviceNet is a serial communication system that makes it easy to interconnect control devices such as PLCs, computers, sensors, and actuators. DeviceNet sharply cuts cost in wiring and allows connection of DeviceNet-compliant devices of various manufacturers, enabling cost-efficient and convenient system configuration.
DeviceNet Slave Board
If the robot controller has a built-in DeviceNet Slave board and connects with master unit through DeviceNet cables, it can configure a DeviceNet system. In this system, the robot controller acts as a DeviceNet-compliant slave unit.
Operating Environment
To use a DeviceNet Slave board, you need to prepare an expansion board (DeviceNet Slave board) and a function expansion license certificate. For details, see "Options for Robot Controller "or "Optional Function and License ".
Expansion Board
The table below lists the configuration of DeviceNet slave board.
DeviceNet slave board is installed in a PCIe slot which is one of an expansion slot in the robot controller. Mini-I/O connector kit is used as an input signal of the safety circuit.
