I/O Lock

Sets the I/O output restriction range.

This function is used to check the operation of a robot program that turns on and off output signals when the robot controller is actually connected via I/O to an external device, which may be influenced by any change in output signals of the robot controller.
After I/O lock is set, turn-on or turn-off of output signals in the robot program is only recorded in the DRAM and the output signals from the robot controller remain unchanged from the viewpoint of the external device.

Selection

All enabled All outputs are allowed with no I/O output restrictions.
User output disabled Forbids all outputs of ports used for user output.
System output disabled Forbids all outputs of ports used for system output. However, port 16 is not prohibited.
All disabled Forbids all outputs of ports except port 16.

The factory default is "All enabled".

  • The I/O lock setting is retained even after the power is turned off. Set the setting to "All enabled" if prohibition of output is no longer needed when, for example, the system actually runs.
  • When an output disable setting is changed to "All enabled," the output state stored in the DRAM is output in actual I/O signals. Therefore, check that no external device will be influenced before changing this setting.

No output disable setting can be directly changed to another output disable setting. For example, "User output disabled" cannot be changed to "System output disabled". The setting must be changed to "All enabled" once.

Operating Procedure

To execute I/O lock function, with a teach pendant, access "Auxiliary functions -I/O" window.

For details, refer to "Displaying Auxiliary Functions Menu (I/O)" of TEACH PENDANT OPERATION GUIDE.
