WINCAPSIII
General Info.
Q | A |
---|---|
What is WINCAPSIII? | WINCAPSIII is a software that enables users to program (PacScript, PAC) and/or simulate DENSO robot on a computer. |
Are there any function restrictions on WINCAPSIII Trial version? | In addition to the restrictions of WINCAPSIII Light, user cannot use any other program than PRO1. |
Are there any function restrictions on WINCAPSIII Light? | It has same restrictions as WINCAPSII Light has.
|
Is it possible to coexist WINCAPSIII and WINCAPSII in one computer? | Yes. |
What is the supported Windows OS? | Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8. |
How can we obtain WINCAPSIII Trial version? | Please consult with DENSO robot dealer or sales representatives. You can directly download from our website as well. Please register our website for that. |
We install WINCAPSIII in computers which OS are Windows Vista or higher. When we enter a license, administration authority is required. How to deal with that? | Once installing WINCAPSIII, click Start button, right-click on WINCAPSIII, and then select "Run as administrator". You will be able to enter a license. |
Function
Q | A |
---|---|
What format is used when obtaining 3D data? | VRML (extension: .wrl) and DirectX (extension: .x). * VRML 1.0 is not supported. |
If we need to obtain any data other than VRML or DirectX format, how can we do? | *If you use 3D-CAD software, in some case, data can be output with VRML 2.0 (or VRML97) format.
|
Is it possible to check I/O log and variable log with a teach pendant? | Only WINCAPSIII can display these logs.
|
On which WINCAPSIII version can we use Online debug mode? | RC7: Debug function is available for controllers which ROM version is 2.7 or higher. |
What is a NODE? | A "NODE" is an assembly of objects to handle these object as a block. * Since users can handle several objects at once, this is helpful tool for operation, such as setting coordinates per NODE. |
What is the "unit" of Detection level of Collision detection? How is an object expanded if we change the number of Detection level? | A target object is enclosed by rectangles. The number of Detection level denotes how many rectangles enclose the detection target object. The number varies depending on the size of the object. Once rectangles collide a target object, the rectangles are divided into smaller rectangles, and then repeats it until rectangles cannot be divided anymore. When it is impossible to further division, it is regarded as collision. If you set the number larger, the accuracy becomes higher. However, setting larger number for the complicated 3D data will lower the processing speed. |
Is it possible to display multiple robots in Arm 3D view? | No. |
We use RC7M ver.2.6. Are there any unavailable functions? | Online debug mode is not available. All functions same as WINCAPSII are available. |
How has WINCAPSIII been changed from WINCAPSII? | WINCAPSIII has the window structure just like other Windows-based application. |
Is it possible to open RC5 programs from WINCAPSIII? | You cannot directly open RC5 projects of WINCAPSII. (It is possible to import programs.) |
Does WINCAPSIII have any functions that enables users to check path under offline-mode or to examine cycle time, just like Arm Player does? | WINCAPSIII equips simulation function as a standard function. Also, collision check is available. For details, refer to WINCAPSIII GUIDE. |
Is it possible to copy IO data or variable data of WINCAPSIII and then to paste the data to Excel? | You can paste copied data to Excel sheet. |
Can WINCAPSIII import 3D data of VRML1.0 file? | VRML1.0 is not supported. *VRML2.0 (or VRML97) file and Directx file are supported. |
Can WINCAPSIII use (import) programs created by WINCAPSII? | Programs can be used as-is. (There is no change of robot language and instruction. Since the differences between WINCAPSIII and II are the window layout and available functions, instruction language is not changed at all. Therefore, programs can be used as-is. ) Also, WINCAPSIII can import RC7J project and RC7M project directly. |
When using Arm Player Plus, if we set the maximum payload for a VP robot, is the setting really reflected to the robot motion? | No. Please use the simulation function of WINCAPSIII instead of Arm Player Plus. (Ver.3.20 or higher) |
We controls VP by using WINCAPSIII and a mini pendant. How can we release errors in compatible mode? | RC7 : Turn ON the "Clear Robot Error" signal, and then turn ON the "Operation Preparation"signal. Please turn OFF the "Clear Robot Error" signal once the "Robot Error" output signal turns OFF, |
Safety
Q | A |
---|---|
If a computer shuts down or Ethernet cable disconnects while running in On-line mode (debug mode), what will happen to the robot? | Robot stops. The safety is assured by the following two measures. 1) Program stops on the controller side if controller does receive data within 300 milliseconds from the previous data reception. 2) Even if the operation of WINCAPSIII becomes slow, robot can stop by pressing a Stop button that is running on another process. |
Is the red button displayed in Online mode (debug mode) the emergency stop button? | No. From the viewpoint of standard, we cannot call it as an emergency stop. This is [Motor power OFF] + [All task stop]. For emergency, place a teach pendant nearby so that users can press the emergency stop button at any time. |
When a teach pendant-less connector is inserted, is it possible to start a program in Online (debug) mode? | Yes. *For the safety reason, operate nearby the emergency stop button of equipment. |
