Configuring the I/O Allocation Mode Parameter

Type of I/O Allocation Mode

There are four types of allocation mode; Mini I/O dedicated mode, Compatible mode, Standard mode, All User mode.
For each mode, input and output signals functions are different.
For details about each mode, refer to "Functions in Individual Allocation Modes" from RC8 SERIES ROBOT CONTROLLER MANUAL.

Available allocation mode is different depending on the I/O Expansion board used. For details, refer to the "Combination of I/O Extension Boards and Allocation Mode" of RC8 SERIES ROBOT CONTROLLER MANUAL.

How to Set the I/O Allocation Mode

If the allocation mode at the shipment is not the mode you intend to, change the allocation mode with WINCAPSIII. Regarding to operation procedures, please refer to "I/O Mode Setting from WINCAPSIII" of START UP MANUAL.

For the way of checking currently selected I/O allocation mode, refer to "Checking the I/O Allocation Mode" from START UP MANUAL.

If the controller has an I/O extension board that can be used in the RC3 compatible or standard mode as a factory option, the default is the standard mode.

Pin Assignment, Port Number

For about pin assignment and port number, refer to "IO allocation" section on the user's manual of your I/O expansion board or each I/O.
