Old and New Encoder Hub
Encoder hub and encoder root cable are sold as a set, and there are old model and new model.
Models except UL-Listed ones
When using a robot set except UL-Listed one, part numbers of the encoder hub are as below.

Note 1 : The last digit of the part number is “1” or larger.
Note 2 : If you purchase a robot set with the dual arm control function specified, the set part number of the encoder hub is 410010-869* (The last digit of the part number is “0” or larger). Contents are the same as 410010-710* (The last digit of the part number is “1” or larger).
The outer dimensions of old model and new model are the same.
Note that the encoder hub of new model does not accept the encoder root cable of old model. For the encoder hub of new model, use the encoder root cable of new model.
UL-Listed models
When using a UL-Listed robot set, part numbers of the encoder hub are as below.

Note 1 : The last digit of the part number is “1” or larger.
Note 2 : The part number of the encoder hub is same when you purchase a robot set with the dual arm control function specified.
The outer dimensions of old model and new model are the same.
For UL-Listed models, “robot connector ports” in the above figure are not used. Therefore, old model and new model can be used in the same way.
Precaution on Installation
- Connect the port according to the axis number.
- Please make sure not to apply excessive pressure on cables.
- Make sure to connect the grounding of the enclosure so as to minimize the noise effect.
- Be sure to prevent dusts or foreign objects from getting in the connection ports on the encoder HUB when connector hook-ups. Ingress of foreign objects may damage the encoder HUB. Do not use the encoder HUB without hooking up connectors.
- When you install an encoder hub, be sure to fix it to the production facilities by using four screw holes, which you can see the corners of the encoder hub, so that it will not be affected by vibrations of surroundings.
- Do not attach the encoder HUB directly to the controller because the controller (RC8 Series, MC8) is not designed to be equipped directly with the encoder HUB. Moreover, do not customize the controller unit or the encoder HUB to attach it directly to the controller. Otherwise, a malfunction may occur.
