MCU Version Upgrade Function
MCU version upgrade function performs the version upgrade of the control MCU of electric gripper when the version of control MCU of electric gripper is lower than the control MCU of COBOTTA Unit.
When Version Upgrade Is Required
When the version of the control MCU of electric gripper is older than the control MCU of COBOTTA Unit, error [0x85400C00 : Servo MCU version mismatch] occurs.
When this error occurs, perform the version upgrade of MCU.
Version of each control MCU
Version of each control MCU can be checked by Remote TP/Virtual TP.
Operation path: Top window - [F6 Setting] - [F2 System Info]
The version is expressed with 4 numeric values. The greater the leftmost value, the later the version.
The procedure to check the version is different for COBOTTA Ver.2.7.0 or older. Refer to this section (PDF:1,874KB).
Version Upgrade Procedure
The following part explains the version upgrade procedure.
To perform this operation, set the user level "Maintainer".

Operation path: Top window - [F6 Setting] - [F2 Option] - [F9 MCU VersionUp]
Press [F9 MCU VersionUp] in the [Option] window of Remote TP/Virtual TP.
If [F9 MCU VersionUp] is pressed when the version upgrade is not required, the following system message will be displayed.

Select [ServoMCU] and press [OK].

When [The MCU Updation] window is displayed, press [OK].
Version upgrade starts. Wait until the process is complete.
Never turn off the power while the version upgrade is in process.

When the completion message is displayed, press [OK] and restart the system.

Operation path: Top window - [F6 Setting] - [F2 Option] - [F10 MCU Reset]
After reboot, press [F10 MCU Reset] in the [Option] window of Remote TP/Virtual TP.

Select [ServoMCU] and press [OK].

The confirmation message will be displayed. Press [OK].

When the initialization is complete, the completion message will be displayed. Press [OK].

Perform reboot.
Now the version upgrade procedure of MCU has been completed.
