MC8 SERIES (MOTION CONTROLLER) MANUAL
This manual describes the controller that controls positioning mechanism of AC servo motor drive, such as robots, X-Y table, and so on.
Some specifications of MC8 series (MC8A, MC8) are the same as the RC8 series robot controller or the extended-joint support controller. This manual describes MC8 series specialized features only, so please read "RC8 SERIES ROBOT CONTROLLER MANUAL" and "EXTENDED-JOINT MANUAL" as well. This function is available in Ver.1.5.* or higher.
To ensure operator safety, be sure to read the precautions and instructions in "SAFETY PRECAUTIONS."
- If axis-assignment between MC8 series and WINCAPSIII are not the same, an error may occur when sending arm data from WINCAPSIII to the controller.
In this case, clear the error and then send the data again. - The MC8 series controller is shipped after software and hardware configuration along with customer-specified motor. The combination between the motor and the controller axis is illustrated in the "Sub assembly" of the controller setting list placed on the upper side of the controller. Miswiring of motor may lead to the motor malfunction, controller overheating, motor overheating. Please carefully confirm the combination of the controller and a motor when connecting.
- This product complies with Machine Directive and EMC Directive as a motion controller. To use the products, adapt it to the necessary standards or legislations as a part of the installation system.
- Do not approach or stay around the motion range of the target axis.
If you adjust parameters by means of the Auto-gain tuning, robots may move faster than the manual operation in the normal condition.
