Electric Vacuum Generator for COBOTTA

The top of an electric vacuum generator has a pad holder that is used to mount a vacuum pad. You can replace a vacuum pad and a pad holder according to your application.

Using the larger diameter of vacuum pad increases the allowable mass of workpiece being gripped larger. However, there is a load capacity limit of COBOTTA unit as well. Please take such limit into consideration when you select a workpiece.

Vacuum Pad Replacement

At the factory default, a vacuum pad of φ20mm (manufacturer: NIHON PISCO, Model: VP20PN) is mounted.

To replace it with any type of VP20PN-series vacuum pad, you only have to remove a vacuum pad from the top of the pad holder, and then put the desired vacuum pad into the pad holder.

Pad Holder Replacement

At the factory default, a pad holder (manufacturer: NIHON PISCO, Model: VPF20PN) is mounted.

The following figure shows the structure of the pad holder mounting part.

When you use a pad holder having spring mechanism, select a pad holder which mounting screw length is 12.5mm or less (including the stroke length). If a pad holder or vacuum pad you want to use fits into a M10×1.0 screw hole, you can directly mount it in the electric vacuum generator.

To remove or mount a pad holder, rotate it into the direction described in the following figure.

To mount any pad holder which screw size is other than M10×1.0, you need to prepare an adapter.

Create a converter on your own side with reference to the following diagram. In this reference diagram, M10×1.0 is converted to M5 through hole.
